A few things to tweak in Laura's room, but mostly completed.

My new office/sewing room is still in need of curtains to be made, and most of all a furniture piece for my machine and the printer! We're not quite sure about the "office" corner fit--so it looks a little hodge-podge right now.

Some cool things about the "new" room--the headboards are from my mom's family (thanks Aunt Nancy!), and the rug between the beds is a remnant from my grandparents' home. I pulled the colors from that rug as an inspiration for the rest of the room, wanting a neutral pallet to work with accessories. The two little pictures were given to me from my mother. My great-grandmother, Olive, did the needlework.
Slowly but surely it's pulling together!

BEEEEAAAAUUUUtiful!! Those twin beds just SING!
And Laura has TWO double beds??
Hi, honey,
Something just "prompted" me to go to your blog, and I found this post which you just did not even 30 mins. ago -- mental telepathy, I'm sure! (smile)
What a fun transformation to the 2 smaller rooms....I love the color schemes in both. I'm so happy you're using some of the things from my mom and grandma -- cool!
I can't wait to come and see it all in person.....Rodger was just asking me last eve. if I knew when our next trip to Sarasota might be -- let us know what your sched. is going to be in Nov., Dec.
Love you! Mom
Laura is in the green room--the beautiful room with twin beds is for Emma and Katy when they are home for visits.
I had help from my artist friend, Linda, in selecting a rich butter cream paint for the walls and bedding. The pictures don't really do it justice.
The first weekend in December is always Renaissance--Laura is now a "Lady" and shortly I will begin sewing her first dress. Her colors picked (not coincidently) are jade green with black and gold trimmings! We're still looking for fabric...hmmmm I think a trip to Tampa is happening soon!
Oh---Ruth-
No! the pictures posted were pre-new coverlet and post--Same bed, different bedding over a few days!!
ha ha! :)
Ohhhhh.
Do I need to ask where you got all your creative juices, Ms. Shari???? :D
