I love the show "The Next Food Network Star". Last year I talked with my family about sending in a video audition. Some people shot down the idea for some valid reasons. This season has just begun, and once again I am placing myself into the finalists challenge scenarios. What would I do if I had made it that far? I have had viable options and ideas. I'm considering this once again...
And so I put this out there: Should I seriously pursue pulling together an audition video? My "angle" would probably be Pantry Meals Without A Recipe, since that is my strong suit in the way I cook on a daily basis. Garland said last night he wouldn't be able to watch the episodes if I made it into the Top 10 (it can be quite cut-throat), but I should go for it.
I'm just a mom who has been cooking dinners for 32 years. Not a trained chef or culinary expert. What do you think?

Go for it, what do you have to lose? Just have to not take yourself too seriously, or take criticism too personally, and you should be fine!
Ummmm.....Ruth said exactly my first thoughts, in her first sentence....GO FOR IT--WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE????? Seriously! I'm all about living a life w/ no regrets......will this be something you'll always "wonder...what if?" about? If so--go for it!
Ruth/Mama J: The more I think about the more I am going to take your advise--I don't want to wonder "what if?". Since you're both on my facebook (look at my favorite quotes), you'll understand my current sentiment: do I have my life because I haven't been brave?

Be brave! Dive into the known unknown. I am glad to inspire, but certainly don't feel very inspirational, i just have pooey shoes! I can see you on this show. I agree with Mama, Ruth and YOU! Don't wonder what if, wonder what can happen! It might not go anywhere, but the experience of entering is worth it in and of itself!

We are not here to please other people. We are here to align with our source- and it sounds like your source is telling you to make a video- otherwise, you wouldn't be posting about it! You're an amazingly talented person and there are no limits to what you can do, except the limits you impose upon yourself:D Go for it!
