Well, as many family and friends up north have said recently, "It's already been a long winter!" While I'm aware we don't struggle with some of the same daily inconveniences, we also go into our long throws of daily living and need things to look forward to.
Even though Valentine's Day is a highlight of the month, for The Man About The House and me it really is just an excuse for an extra date. We consider our special day to be our anniversary, October 16. I'm fortunate to know how much I'm loved by he and others in my life on a daily basis, so I am a blessed woman indeed.
At our house, the doldrums are wiped away by the planning of our annual Oscar party. I get giddy anticipating the nominations, trying to take in as many of the nominated movies as possible before the big event, and then of course there is the planning of The Event itself! I'm looking forward to see how Hugh Jackman is going to host--I have very high hopes for him stepping into this spot. Of course, there is the Heath Ledger buzz....and, well, why don't you just take a peek yourself at all the excitement:

Yay!
I need to get busy and see some movies. I can't believe how much I've changed. I used to know every movie that was showing. But I still love watching the Oscars. I was curious about the choice of Hugh Jackman, he does have a great voice. Does he have a good sense of humor too?
It's one of my favorite nights, too, and I can hardly wait. I haven't seen all the biggies yet but little by little, I'm tackling them. I saw Gran Torino this week and loved it, even though the language was rough...but totally fitting for the point of the movie. It was very powerful. That Clint Eastwood is one heck of an actor!
