Time Away

I had to let go of this project for awhile...

Shopping with Katy for "dorm stuff".
Impromptu dinner at Shakespeare's Pub.
Caregiving Emma's whiplash after a rear-ended car accident.
Entertaining the residents at Sunnyside Nursing Home. (my former mother-in-law is one)
Celebrating Katy's IB Diploma confirmation.
Enjoying DQ treats with the entire family.
Planting new basil plants, and purchasing a new spider plant.

Trying to stay busy and not think about where I could be.

If you weren't at a family gathering, what would you do the week of the 4th of July?

Ohhhhh, that is so sad. You had me going with your littany of tasks, and then bam, your link to the Hukilau gathering. We missed you and thought of you many times. I sure do hope you can make it next year. But we understand the push toward the big move to college and all that goes into that. It's pretty amazing that my niece's daughter is starting college! Wow.

And too bad about Emma's accident! I'm sorry she has a whiplash, but I'm glad that's all (or I hope that's all).

Katy L. works w/ a lady who takes PIP auto insurance claim numbers and specializes in injuries caused by accidents.....let me know if you all need a good MT. She did WONDERS for my shoulder, after I had given up ( a year of pain, 12 wks. of PT, NOTHING worked).

I miss my family terribly too--so I surround myself w/ incredible friends during the holidays like the 4th.

Email me. Miss ya.

I know how hard this is for you, Shari, because I've had those times myself, as you know. Now that Katy will be in Michigan for college, I think we're all assuming we'll see your family a lot more!!!

Ruth: After I made my post, I realized it sounded a little like a MasterCard ad! Emma is doing much better. It was actually a friend that ran into them as they were all going to a 4th of July party...at a house, on the bay, to see the Siesta Key fireworks! The fender-bender didn't change any plans, except Em did come home to sleep instead of staying over as originally intended.

Mamma J: Nice to hear from you! Actually, Katy L. is well acquainted with our fam--but thanks for the reference!! She is indeed fabulous for what aches you.

Send me a "real" email, btw and tell me how you and the boys are surviving summer! I know how much you miss Virginia.

Ginnie/Boots: I know both you and Ruth completely understand what this is like!! Katy being in MI is bittersweet--but it's still expensive to go back and forth! Garland and I will be up the first weekend of November for Parent's Weekend, but then that means we wouldn't be at the cottage for Christmas. That kind of schedule doesn't help us see your family!! Which means... ;)
